In line with Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia’s Transport General Authority (TGA) is spearheading digital innovation in transportation. From rolling out autonomous vehicles in partnership with Uber and managing over 79 million delivery orders digitally, to launching e-transport platforms like Bayan and refreshing its brand, TGA is building a futuristic and seamless transportation ecosystem.

Digital Logistics & E-Commerce

In Q1 2025, TGA handled over 79.6 million delivery orders, marking a 22% increase from the previous year—evidencing the impact of its digital logistics systems backed by efficient regulation and transport infrastructure. These digital capabilities are central to TGA’s efforts to modernize and support the Kingdom’s booming e-commerce sector.

Autonomous Mobility for Saudia

TGA recently entered a partnership with Uber to introduce autonomous vehicles in Saudi Arabia, launching pilot rides (with safety drivers) before the end of 2025. Deputy Transport Enablement Omaimah Bamasag confirmed TGA’s plan to convert 15% of public transport and 25% of freight vehicles to autonomous systems by 2030, backed by robust R&D, safety frameworks, and regulatory support.

Digital Infrastructure & Branding

  • Bayan: TGA’s online platform for issuing and tracking cross-border freight documents, simplifying customs processes, and enhancing transparency.

  • Brand evolution: A refreshed visual identity emphasizes TGA’s core values—safety, quality, and sustainability—while reinforcing its role in future mobility.

  • Innovation ecosystem: Through collaborations like the autonomous vehicle testing sandbox, TGA fosters cooperation across government agencies, tech firms, universities, and civic partners.

Why It Matters

TGA’s initiatives support multiple national priorities:
  • Smart mobility: Automating freight and passenger transport reduces congestion, improves safety, and speeds up logistics.

  • Economic diversification: Digital and autonomous transit systems attract investment and create new tech-sector jobs.

  • Regulatory agility: Sandbox testing and updated frameworks put Saudi Arabia at the forefront of mobility regulation in the region.

  • Citizen-centric design: Modern transport services enhance convenience for both residents and international visitors.
