Circular Computing
Circular Computing, headquartered in Portsmouth, UK, is pioneering sustainable IT through its Circular Remanufacturing Process.
Born from a deep commitment to the circular economy, this process gives enterprise-grade HP, Dell, and Lenovo laptops a second life—returning them to a “like-new” condition while dramatically cutting environmental impact.
Each laptop undergoes a rigorous, 360-step refurbishing journey lasting over 5 hours. Every component is disassembled, inspected, and tested—the result is a high-quality product with performance matching or exceeding new devices. This precision has earned Circular Computing the world's first BSI Kitemark for remanufactured laptops.
Remarkably, less than 3% of units require returns, underscoring reliability.
Scientific analysis by Cranfield University shows these remanufactured laptops produce only 6.34% of the CO₂ emissions compared to new models—making the impact equivalent to removing dozens of cars from the road per thousand units.
316 kg of CO₂ emissions avoided
190,000 liters of water saved
1,200 kg of earth resources preserved
Five trees planted, funded via charity: water for every device sold.
Circular Computing's sustainable IT solutions are gaining traction. In 2024, Ireland awarded them a €30 million contract to supply up to 60,000 remanufactured laptops, aligning with its green procurement goals.
They also partnered with Atos to supply 34,000 carbon-neutral laptops to the UK's DEFRA, reinforcing government-level adoption of circular IT.
Expansion through distribution partnerships, such as with Exertis, is helping scale delivery across enterprise and public sectors.
Circular Computing extends its impact through advocacy and collaboration. It launched the Re: Sustainable IT Summit in 2024, bringing together global tech leaders to strategize on reducing e-waste and emissions.
As a signatory of the UK Government’s Digital Sustainability Alliance, the company helps shape national policy on green ICT.
