In 2025, the United States launched the Presidential
AI Challenge. It’s a national competition for students from kindergarten
through 12th grade.
First Lady Melania Trump introduced the
challenge to help young people explore how artificial intelligence can make
life better for everyone.
The goal is simple. Let students use their
creativity and tech skills to build something meaningful.
Students are invited to create AI-powered
solutions to real-life challenges. They can work alone or in teams.
Project ideas can include
Each project should show how AI can help and
why the idea matters. Judges will look for creativity, real-world impact, and
clear thinking.
This challenge is more than just a contest.
It’s a learning experience.
Many students don’t get the chance to learn
about AI in school. But AI is already shaping the world around us.
This contest gives them the chance to explore,
build, and understand how technology works in everyday life. It also encourages
teachers to bring more hands-on learning into their classrooms.
The challenge will run through the end of 2025.
Finalists will be invited to Washington, DC, to share their ideas.
They’ll meet leaders in education, technology,
and government. Some may even get support to grow their projects beyond the
competition.
It’s a chance for students to be heard and to
see that their ideas can make a difference.
