CAYAGO AG, a German manufacturer based in Bad Salzuflen, has built its SEABOB brand around one specific promise: high-performance water sleds powered entirely by electricity rather than combustion engines. Its newest model, the SEABOB SE63, was developed in collaboration with Italian carmaker Automobili Lamborghini, marking the electric water scooter's move from a design collaboration announcement into a real product now being shown publicly ahead of production.

The SE63 name carries a specific meaning: SE stands for Special Edition, while 63 refers to 1963, the year Automobili Lamborghini was founded. CAYAGO has worked with outside designers before, including Studio F. A. Porsche on its existing SEABOB F9 series, but this marks the company's first collaboration specifically with Lamborghini.

Where Lamborghini's Design Language Actually Shows Up

The SE63's cockpit carries a start button styled after the ones found in Lamborghini's own super sports cars, paired with a central carbon element drawn from the same visual language. The digital speedometer is designed to echo the distinctive digit style used on Lamborghini's dashboards, extending that automotive design identity onto a piece of water equipment rather than treating the branding as a surface-level badge.

Underneath that styling sits real material engineering: the drive system uses a carbon fiber motor shaft, paired with structural parts made from titanium and magnesium. At 35 kilograms, the SE63 is light enough for a person to move around a boat deck without needing lifting equipment, despite the more substantial materials used throughout its construction.

How the Power and Handling Actually Work

CAYAGO measures the SE63's output using a metric it calls thrust performance, or TP, calculated from a formula combining thrust, vehicle weight, and electrical power; the SE63 is rated at 162 TP. The scooter offers two distinct drive modes: a normal mode suited to underwater travel, and a sport mode that significantly increases torque to push the vehicle toward its maximum performance. Electrically extending side wings deploy to add stability when the SE63 is being handled on the water's surface rather than submerged.

An Optional Board That Changes How It's Ridden

Beyond the core scooter, CAYAGO offers an optional Performance Board that attaches to the rear of the SE63, letting a rider switch to a prone riding position instead of the standard grip-and-tow stance. The board's underside carries a hydrofoil shaped to generate lift, allowing the combined vehicle to transition into a planing state, skimming across the surface, within seconds rather than building up to it gradually. With the Performance Board fitted, CAYAGO states the SE63 can reach a top surface speed of 35 km/h, a distinct mode of use from the underwater and standard surface riding the base scooter is built around.

A Collaboration Still Ahead of Its Own Production Line

The SE63 was unveiled at a digital product launch before appearing physically at a major European boat show, a sequencing that let CAYAGO build public interest ahead of having any finished units to show in person. Production itself hasn't started yet: CAYAGO has stated manufacturing is planned to begin in the second quarter of this year, with the SE63 reaching SEABOB's distribution partners only afterward. That means everything described here, including the exact performance figures, reflects a finalized design rather than a product that's already been tested at scale in customers' hands.

CAYAGO frames the SE63 as its most capable model to date, a claim consistent with the specific engineering choices described, though it's the kind of positioning any manufacturer makes about its newest flagship. The more interesting open question is what a single collaborative, limited-run model like this signals for CAYAGO's broader lineup: whether the materials and design ideas developed here- the carbon fiber shaft, the extending wings, the Performance Board's hydrofoil- eventually filter down into SEABOB's standard product range, or remain specific to this one Lamborghini-branded edition.
