Adding Intelligence to Video

Cameras have often relied on motion detection, which can trigger alerts for minor events like shifting shadows or passing animals. Reolink’s ReoNeura AI system moves beyond this by distinguishing between people, vehicles, and animals with greater accuracy. It also allows users to search stored footage using simple terms such as “delivery van” or “dog in yard.” In addition, short captions help summarize recorded clips, making video libraries easier to navigate. These updates shift the role of cameras from basic recording to providing clearer, more usable information.

Ensuring Coverage Without Power or Wi-Fi

Interruptions in power or internet service have been a major weakness in home monitoring. The Altas series responds to this with large batteries, solar panel options, and local storage. These cameras can continue recording during outages and even operate in areas without reliable Wi-Fi by using 4G connectivity. The range includes both fixed and pan-tilt designs, allowing users to choose based on their surroundings. By removing dependence on external infrastructure, the Altas series addresses a practical barrier that has limited camera reliability.

Combining Light and Surveillance

Floodlight systems are often limited to small areas, leaving blind spots in coverage. Reolink’s TrackFlex Floodlight WiFi and Elite Floodlight WiFi integrate strong lighting with wide-angle cameras. Pan-tilt control enables full 360° monitoring, while motion detection spans 270°. The floodlights themselves can be adjusted for different color tones, making them adaptable for varied environments. By merging lighting and video into a single device, these systems reduce the need for multiple installations and give broader coverage in one setup.

Reducing Dependence on Subscriptions

In many security systems, essential features such as video playback or smart alerts are tied to subscription services. Reolink’s 2025 devices shift these functions onto the devices themselves. AI recognition, storage, and playback run locally, allowing cameras to work without cloud uploads or extra fees. This design also reduces exposure of personal footage to external servers, strengthening privacy. For users, it means home security becomes less about ongoing payments and more about direct access to the tools they already own.
