a blank wall or a train seat-back tray becomes a screen the size of a small
home theater. That is the pitch behind the RayNeo Air 4 Pro, a set of HDR10 AR
glasses from RayNeo, the augmented and extended reality brand owned by TCL. The
company states its broader goal is to bring AR glasses to a billion people
worldwide, and the Air 4 Pro is its newest attempt to make that technology both
more capable and more affordable.
The glasses had already been sold in China
under a slightly different name before RayNeo brought the Air 4 Pro to a global
audience, expanding availability to markets including the United States,
Canada, and Europe. RayNeo
has
built several generations of AR and AI glasses before this one, and the Air 4
Pro sits at the top of its AR-only lineup, positioned as the company's flagship
display product rather than a first attempt at the category. On its official

At the center of the Air 4 Pro is a pair of
0.6-inch Micro-OLED panels capable of Full HD resolution and a refresh rate of
up to 120Hz, projecting what RayNeo describes as a 201-inch virtual display.
According to the company, the panels reach a peak brightness of 1,200 nits and
a contrast ratio of 200,000:1, covering 98 percent of the DCI-P3 color space
and 145 percent of sRGB, with a stated color accuracy of less than 2 Delta E, a
measure of how closely displayed colors match their intended values.
The headline feature is HDR10 support, which
RayNeo markets as a first for AR glasses. HDR, short for high dynamic range,
refers to a display's ability to show a much wider range between the darkest
and brightest parts of an image, along with a greater number of color shades in
between, compared with a standard display. HDR10 is the most common open
version of this standard, already used in many televisions and streaming
services, and RayNeo states no other AR glasses have offered it before. A
custom processor called Vision 4000 handles real-time conversion of standard
video into HDR, along with converting ordinary 2D footage into 3D, so that
older or unenhanced video content can still take advantage of the display's
extended range. Brightness can be adjusted across 20 levels to suit different
lighting conditions, and high-frequency dimming operating at 3,840Hz is built
into the panel driver to reduce visible flicker, an approach independently

Audio on the Air 4 Pro comes from a
four-speaker array tuned in partnership with Bang & Olufsen, supporting
both a wider surround-style sound and a private "whisper mode"
intended to keep audio from carrying to people nearby, with an optional add-on
module available for extra volume. Comfort was clearly a design priority as
well: the glasses weigh 76 grams, and RayNeo built in a nine-way adjustable
temple system along with a three-position nose pad, aiming for a fit that can
be tuned to different face shapes rather than a single fixed size.
For anyone who needs corrective lenses, RayNeo
doesn't build prescription support into the glasses directly, instead
partnering with an outside lens specialist that produces custom prescription
inserts compatible with the frame, shipped separately and internationally. The
product is also sold in limited-edition finishes alongside the standard
version, tying the hardware to a licensed pop-culture theme, and RayNeo sells a
matching accessory ecosystem around the glasses, including a dedicated sound
module, an HDMI adapter, a gaming dock, and a small streaming box, letting a

Display-focused AR glasses like the Air 4 Pro
sit in a different category from full spatial computing headsets: they're built
to be a lightweight, portable screen rather than a device that overlays
interactive digital objects onto a wearer's real environment. That distinction
matters for anyone comparing products in this space, since marketing language
across the category doesn't always draw the line clearly between a private
display and true spatial AR.
Because the glasses depend entirely on a
connected device for both power and video signal, actual performance varies
with whatever phone, laptop, or console is plugged in, something no amount of
glasses-side engineering can fully control. RayNeo itself notes that HDR10
playback specifically depends on the connected device, its operating system,
the app being used, and whether the source content supports HDR at all, meaning
the headline display feature isn't guaranteed to activate with every video a

a practical limitation worth setting expectations around: image clarity,
especially at the edges of the virtual screen, depends heavily on how precisely
