Shrinking the Smartphone Without Losing Connectivity

Standard smartphones typically require separate SIM cards or eSIM provisioning for cellular connectivity. IKKO, an audio technology company, examined this requirement and developed an integrated connectivity approach. The company created the MindOne Pro card-sized smartphone, which treats internet access as a built-in feature rather than requiring external subscription setup. This perspective led to a device that addresses physical size reduction, integrated data connectivity, and AI tool operation simultaneously.

The device removes the traditional SIM card activation process for basic connectivity. Instead, a vSIM system provides built-in internet access across 140 countries without requiring contract negotiation. This card-sized smartphone creates a different connectivity structure compared to conventional devices that separate hardware from network access. The approach places emphasis on compact physical dimensions, immediate operation after purchase, and AI-focused software features that leverage permanent connectivity.

Technology Packed Into Credit Card Dimensions

The system operates through integrated hardware components and dual operating systems working together. The 8.9mm thick chassis houses a 50MP Sony camera sensor with 180-degree rotation capability, eliminating the need for separate front and rear cameras. The card-sized smartphone processes visual content through a 1240×1080 AMOLED display running at a 90Hz refresh rate with sapphire glass protection providing a 9H hardness rating.

The software configuration runs Android 15 alongside IKKO AI OS, a separate workspace environment accessible through long-pressing the top corner button. The AI operating system includes translation tools, voice note processing, summary generation, and assistant features that utilize the built-in NovaLink internet connection. The card-sized smartphone supports three connectivity modes: NovaLink for AI tools with free access in 60 regions, rechargeable vSIM for full data usage in 140 countries, and standard nano SIM for traditional carrier services. The MediaTek MT8781 processor manages operations with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage capacity.

Expanding Capabilities Through Modular Accessories

The compact design influences how additional features integrate with the base device. An optional snap-in case attachment provides QWERTY keyboard functionality, Cirrus Logic CS43198 Hi-Fi DAC audio processing, and 3.5mm headphone jack connectivity. The magnetic attachment system adds 500mAh battery capacity while maintaining the compact form factor. The card-sized smartphone accommodates these expansions without increasing dimensions beyond pocket portability.

The camera implementation addresses the space constraints of miniaturized devices through mechanical rotation. The single 50MP sensor serves both selfie and rear photography functions by rotating 180 degrees and locking at any angle between positions. The device includes NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, dual-band WiFi, and GPS positioning alongside cellular connectivity options. Battery capacity reaches 2200mAh, with specifications indicating 16 hours of video playback duration. The weight measures 136 grams with an IP54 water and dust resistance rating.
