Ten years ago, starting a product business meant renting storage, buying
inventory upfront, and hoping the designs would sell. Most people never tried.
The risk was too high and the barrier too real. Printify removed both.
Founded in 2015 in Riga, Latvia by James Berdigans, Artis Kehris, and
Gatis Dukurs, Printify is a print on demand platform that connects
sellers to a global network of print providers. A seller designs a product,
lists it for sale, and Printify handles the rest. Production only begins when a
customer places an order. No inventory. No waste. No upfront cost.
Today, more than 10 million sellers use Printify across 209 countries,
with over 60 million orders completed through a network of 141 production
facilities worldwide. The platform carries over 1,300 customizable products,
from t-shirts and hoodies to mugs, candles, phone cases, and bags.
The process is built around simplicity. A seller uploads a design into
Printify's Product Creator, which includes a built-in AI image generator for
those who want to create artwork without design experience. The product is then
listed on connected storefronts including Shopify, Etsy, TikTok Shop, Amazon,
eBay, WooCommerce, and Squarespace.
When a customer buys, the order routes automatically to the nearest print
provider in Printify's network. That provider prints, packs, and ships directly
to the customer. The seller never touches the product.
Printify's free plan allows unlimited product creation and connection to
five stores, with sellers paying only the production cost per item sold. The
Premium plan, priced at $39 per month as of February 2026, offers up to 20% off
the full product catalog and access to up to ten stores. For a seller moving
consistent volume, that discount directly improves margins.
The platform is moving deeper into two areas: AI and social commerce.
Printify's Product Creator now includes AI-assisted design tools that generate
mockups, suggest design templates, and provide predictive insights on product
performance. Sellers who previously relied on external design software can now
complete the full workflow inside Printify.
On the commerce side, direct TikTok Shop and Pinterest integrations let
creators sell from social content without redirecting customers elsewhere.
Software solutions represent 54.2% of the total print on demand market in 2025,
and Printify's API-based integrations are central to that shift. Furthermore,
personalized products continue to outperform, with customized gifts converting
30% higher than generic equivalents across the platform.
The print on demand industry is projected to reach nearly $75 billion by
2033, growing at an annual rate exceeding 23%. Printify holds approximately 28%
of the global market, up from 18% in 2023. For context, by 2024 the company
generated around $350 million in revenue, with projections pointing above $500
million as AI tools and social commerce integrations continue to expand the
seller base.
Davis Sarmins, Director of Growth Marketing at Printify, summed up the
company's position plainly: the mission is to remove friction and help anyone —
students, designers, small business owners — turn creativity into sustainable
business success.
