HISONG AirStudio S1 combines microphone, wireless monitoring, and audio interface in a 120g device built for creators working beyond fixed studio spaces.
Mobile recording has long required compromise. Musicians and podcasters
often carry microphones, audio interfaces, headphones, cables, and mixers just
to capture a clean take. That setup adds weight, clutter, and friction before
the first note is even recorded.
The HISONG AirStudio S1 approaches the problem by condensing the
essential recording chain into one capsule. Weighing 120 grams, it functions as
a complete wireless microphone system. Inside the retro-styled body sits a
switchable condenser and dynamic microphone, built-in wireless in-ear monitors,
and a USB-C audio interface. A single button allows users to shift between
condenser clarity and dynamic strength depending on the environment. Recording
reaches 24-bit/48kHz with a 20Hz–20kHz frequency response, while handling up to
137dB maximum sound pressure level. HISONG’s ZeroSync™ technology reduces
wireless latency to around 24 milliseconds, enabling real-time monitoring
without noticeable delay.
Beyond hardware integration, the AirStudio S1 reduces reliance on
external processing tools. Real-time DSP allows adjustments to EQ, compression,
reverb, and noise reduction through the HISONG Link app, keeping sound shaping
immediate rather than complex.
Compatibility plays an important role in its practicality. The device
connects directly to laptops, tablets, and smartphones via USB-C and works with
major DAWs including Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Cubase, FL Studio, and Pro Tools.
Mobile apps like GarageBand and BandLab are supported as well. Each purchase
includes Steinberg’s Cubasis LE for iOS, allowing creators to begin recording
without additional software. Battery life extends to about 10 hours for the
microphone capsule and roughly 3.5 hours for the earbuds, with fast charging
helping reduce downtime between sessions.
The AirStudio S1 changes where recording can realistically happen. Street
performers can capture live sessions without separate gear. Travel creators can
record voiceovers without returning to a studio. Songwriters can document ideas
the moment inspiration strikes. The shift is less about replacing studios and
more about reducing barriers between creativity and capture.
Industry recognition reflects that shift. The device earned a CES
Innovation Awards® 2025 Honoree title and appeared in TIME’s Best Inventions of
2025 list. Publications such as MusicTech and Engadget highlighted its
integrated design. However, the broader impact lies in simplifying mobile audio
without expanding the physical footprint of equipment.
Recording environments have traditionally depended on space, wiring, and
stationary hardware. The AirStudio S1 suggests that certain workflows no longer
require those conditions. It does not replace professional studios, but it
expands the situations where professional-level recording can begin.
