How Does a Helmet Know When to Call for Help?

This headgear doesn’t just protect it communicates, senses, and responds.

The Mercedes-AMG F1® Smart eBike Helmet by n+ Bikes moves beyond traditional helmet design by embedding interactive safety features. Built with an ABS ( Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene  )

hard-shell and lined with EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) foam, it’s structured for impact protection, while the integrated MIPS system ( Multi-directional Impact Protection System) helps manage rotational force during collisions. Certified to both CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission standard (USA)) and EN1078 (European Standard for Bicycle Helmets) standards, it weighs 560 grams and is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. The design also includes a detachable visor that snaps into place for added eye coverage.

Beyond physical protection, the helmet offers contextual awareness through wireless integration with the eBike. It connects via Bluetooth to synchronize key functions, allowing seamless communication between rider and machine. The system shares telemetry data and uses that link to send automated emergency alerts to contacts in case of a detected crash. These alerts operate in the background, activating only when needed.

What sets this helmet apart is how it supports safety through subtle automation. For example, ambient light levels trigger bright adjustments in the headlamp, helping maintain visibility without requiring manual input. Its built-in electronics support these transitions smoothly, offering a responsive ride that adapts to changing environments. With its gesture-free signaling and ambient adjustment, the helmet enables focus to remain fully on the road.
