In 2025, Honda unveiled the WN7 electric motorcycle at EICMA in
Milan — a moment that signaled its real entry into the electric “FUN” segment.
This is not a concept or a commuter bike; it’s a fully realized performance
machine built to carry the thrill of riding into an electric future.
Guided by the brand promise “Expected Life. Unexpected Discoveries.”,
the WN7 represents Honda’s transition from internal combustion legacy to smart,
low-emission mobility. Its name itself tells a story: “W” for Be the Wind,
“N” for Naked, and “7” for its output class — a simple code for a bold shift.
This model draws from Honda’s 75 years of engineering heritage but looks
forward to the next generation of riders who want clean energy without losing
character or control.
Honda did not just electrify a motorcycle — it reinvented its structure.
The WN7 features a 9.3 kWh fixed lithium-ion battery that serves as part
of the main frame, allowing for a frameless design that improves stability and
reduces weight.
The motor produces up to 50 kW of power and 100 Nm of torque,
matching the performance feel of 600 to 1000 cc ICE bikes while remaining
smooth and silent. Water cooling ensures long-term efficiency and heat
management.
Its range exceeds 130 km on a single charge, and with CCS2 fast
charging, riders can reach 80 % in about 30 minutes. Full charging from a
home wall-box takes less than three hours, making the WN7 practical for
everyday use as well as longer rides.
By combining a centralized mass layout, belt drive, and lightweight
components, Honda ensures the WN7 handles like a true sport machine while
delivering instant electric torque for city and highway environments alike.
Electric motorcycles have often focused on commuting — quiet, practical,
and limited. Honda chose a different path by targeting the emotional core of
riding. The WN7 embodies agility, speed, and freedom — qualities that define
why riders choose two wheels in the first place.
For Honda, this model also marks a strategic shift toward its goal of
achieving carbon-neutral motorcycle production by the 2040s. The WN7 is
a proof of concept that electric bikes can be dynamic and sustainable without
sacrificing performance.
Its release also sets a new benchmark for electric charging standards and
design innovation in the motorcycle sector — encouraging infrastructure and
policy changes across Europe and Asia.
