Autostore System
AutoStore is a fully automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) that reimagines warehouse operations through compact cube storage and intelligent robots.
Designed and built in Norway, it transforms how companies store, access, and move inventory—by eliminating aisles, reducing space requirements, and maximizing speed.
Now used in over 58 countries, AutoStore delivers proven efficiency gains across retail, logistics, healthcare, and industrial sectors.
Instead of traditional shelving, AutoStore stacks bins vertically within an aluminum cube grid. On top of this grid, small autonomous robots zip across the surface, digging down to retrieve bins and delivering them to workstations—called ports—for human or robotic picking.
The system uses real-time data to self-optimize: items accessed more frequently are kept near the top for faster retrieval. This dynamic arrangement allows continuous adaptation to inventory trends without human reorganization.
AutoStore is trusted by global brands like ASDA, Puma, Siemens, and Lufthansa. Companies have reported dramatic performance gains: faster picking times, increased storage density, and smoother scaling for peak seasons. In one case, a system picked and fulfilled orders in as little as 63 seconds.
From e-commerce to pharmaceuticals, AutoStore adapts to a wide range of industries. It supports cold storage environments, small urban warehouses, and even automated micro-fulfillment centers inside grocery stores.
