How the Technology Works

At the heart of Samsara Eco’s process is EosEco™, a proprietary platform that uses specially engineered enzymes. These enzymes are designed to recognize and break down various types of plastics at a molecular level.

Once the plastic is depolymerized, the process separates the resulting monomers from impurities like dyes or additives. These monomers can then be used to create virgin-grade plastic, suitable for applications like food packaging and performance textiles.

Notably, the entire process is designed to be fast, repeatable, and low-emission—making it an environmentally and economically viable alternative to current methods.

Commercial Progress and Industry Impact

Samsara Eco has already made impressive strides in scaling its technology. In partnership with global athletic brand lululemon, the company produced the world’s first garment made from enzymatically recycled nylon 6,6—a milestone for circular fashion.

In addition, Samsara is constructing Australia’s first R&D center dedicated to infinite plastic recycling and is planning full-scale commercial plants across Southeast Asia to process millions of tonnes of plastic annually.

These steps aim to embed circularity directly into supply chains across industries like fashion, packaging, electronics, and automotive.

Funding and Global Recognition

In 2024, Samsara Eco secured $65 million in Series A+ funding from high-profile investors including Temasek, Main Sequence, Hitachi Ventures, and lululemon. This brought its total funding to over $100 million—signaling strong investor confidence in the scalability and impact of its solution.

The company has also earned significant recognition, including a feature in Fast Company’s World Changing Ideas 2025, and it operates as a Certified B Corporation, reflecting its commitment to environmental and social accountability.
