Dubai’s AI Push

Dubai is moving quickly to bring artificial intelligence into every part of its public services. The city’s Centre for Artificial Intelligence has launched the second cycle of the Future of AI in Government Services Accelerator. The program invites AI experts, startups, and technology companies from around the world to work with over 20 government departments.

The goal is to make services faster, smarter, and easier to access. Participants will work closely with government teams to design and test solutions that can be applied in real-world settings. The accelerator covers travel, accommodation, and mentorship for selected innovators, allowing them to focus fully on developing their ideas. This is part of Dubai’s long-term plan to position itself as a global hub for AI-powered governance.

Main Focus Areas

Improve current services: Use AI to enhance existing systems and processes, making them more accurate and efficient.

  1. Develop new solutions: Create AI tools to address public service challenges that traditional methods have struggled to solve.
  2. Automate routine tasks: Integrate AI into daily government operations to increase productivity.
  3. Ensure accessibility: Build AI systems that serve all members of the community, including those with different needs and abilities.

Wider AI Ecosystem

The accelerator is part of a much larger AI strategy in Dubai. Other programs include:

  • Dubai AI Seal: A certification for trusted AI systems used in government operations.
  • One Million Prompters: An initiative to train one million people in AI prompt engineering skills within three years.
  • Dubai AI Academy: A platform offering AI education and skill-building programs.
  • Dubai AI Week: An annual event showcasing new AI technologies and encouraging global collaboration.

These programs work together to create a connected ecosystem where AI innovation can grow and be applied across public services.
