ChompSaw: The Power Tool Built for Small Hands

Every kid has tried to cut cardboard and failed. Too thick for scissors, too dangerous for a knife. The ChompSaw is the first power tool designed specifically to let children build whatever they can imagine, safely.

The Problem with Every Box That Ever Arrived

Cardboard is one of the most available creative materials in any home. Boxes arrive constantly, stack up in corners, and end up in recycling bins before a child ever gets to use them. The reason is straightforward. Cardboard is genuinely difficult to cut. Too thick and stiff for children's scissors. Too dangerous for any blade a child should be near. The result is always the same. A child with an idea, a pile of boxes, and no way to turn one into the other without an adult stepping in to do the hard part. The ChompSaw was built to remove that barrier entirely.

ChompSaw: A Power Tool with No Blade

The ChompSaw looks and sounds like a miniature table saw. A large button on the side powers it on. The machine hums to life. But there is no spinning blade inside it. The cutting mechanism is an oscillating shaft that moves in a rapid chomp action rather than rotating, cutting cleanly through cardboard, paper, fabric, and craft foam without any of the risks that spinning blades carry. The opening where material enters is sized so that small fingers cannot reach the cutting area. Hair cannot be caught. Clothing cannot snag. A heat-dissipating aluminium cutting head stays cool to the touch behind a protective metal guard throughout every session. The machine cuts precisely and consistently, and a child can operate it independently from the first use.

Where ChompSaw Gets Used

The ChompSaw is certified to ASTM F963, CPSC, and CPSIA safety standards, approved for children from age three upward. It is used in STEAM classrooms, summer camps, homeschool programmes, and school workshops as a hands-on learning tool that develops fine motor skills, spatial reasoning, and early engineering thinking. The Maker Bundle gives children a complete system of complementary tools, each built to the same safety standard, allowing a cardboard idea to move from concept to finished object without adult assistance at any stage of the process.
