Beats announced Beats 360 on September 22,
2026. The company calls it the first customizable over-ear headphone it's ever
made. The ear cushions and headband cushion can be swapped for different colors
and materials, something no past Beats over-ear model has offered. Oliver
Schusser, Apple's vice president of Music, Sports, and Beats, said Beats 360 is
the next chapter after Beats helped create the whole over-ear headphone
category in the first place.
Beats designed brand-new drivers specifically
for the 360. Each one uses a thin, three-layer diaphragm and two neodymium
magnets. Together, they produce deep bass and clean, precise sound with very
little distortion. The noise cancelling is Beats' strongest yet, blocking up to
1.75 times more sound than the Beats Studio Pro. Transparency mode lets a
wearer hear their surroundings instantly when switched on. A feature called
Adaptive EQ keeps adjusting the sound in real time based on exactly how the
headphone fits on the wearer's head. For movies and music, sensors in the left
earcup track head movement, working with Dolby Atmos to make the sound feel
like it's moving around the listener.
The cushions come in two materials. Performance
Knit is soft memory foam wrapped in a breathable knit fabric, woven from tiny,
tough threads so it holds up through workouts. UltraPlush is the same smooth
engineered leather used on the Studio Pro and Solo 4, made for comfort over
long, relaxed days rather than the gym. Beats also redesigned the headband
itself. Going fully wireless freed up space that used to be reserved for
cables, so engineers used that space to spread out the weight more evenly
instead. Beats 360 is also the first Beats over-ear headphone rated to resist
sweat and water, and it folds flat into a travel case included in the box.
Every Beats 360 comes with cushions that match
its main color. Extra Performance Knit cushions come in six more colors, and
UltraPlush comes in two. Each kit includes both the ear cushions and the
headband piece, so changing the whole look takes one swap rather than several.
A custom chip inside handles the wireless
connection to both iPhones and Android phones. It uses a fast, long-range
version of Bluetooth. On an iPhone, that includes one-tap pairing, an
always-listening "Hey Siri," automatic switching between paired
devices, and Find My support if the headphone is misplaced. Android phones get
their own matching features, including Google's Fast Pair and Find Hub. The
buttons sit on the back of each earcup: volume and play/pause on the right,
power and a listening-mode button on the left. Nine tiny microphones are built
in — eight for blocking noise, three for picking up the wearer's voice, with
two doing double duty. One extra microphone is aimed specifically at the
wearer's voice during calls, helping it stay clear even in a noisy room.

Beats states a full charge lasts up to 32 hours
with noise-cancelling and spatial audio turned on. A five-minute charge over
USB-C adds about an hour of playback. The headphone itself is made from 80
percent recycled plastic, the highest amount Beats has ever used in a product.
Every magnet inside uses fully recycled rare earth materials, and the box it
comes in is made entirely from plant-based material.
