Abu Dhabi Uses AI to Improve Healthcare for the Future

Abu Dhabi is using artificial intelligence to improve medical care, predict health risks, and support doctors with better data and faster decisions.

AI in Everyday Healthcare

During the 2025 Abu Dhabi Global Health Week, the Department of Health shared how artificial intelligence is being used to improve healthcare services. AI tools now help doctors monitor patients remotely, predict illnesses before they happen, and support quicker decision-making. These systems are connected to existing platforms like Malaffi, which links patient records across the country, and the Emirati Genome Program, which is used to personalize care.

A New Center for Health Innovation

Abu Dhabi also introduced the HELM cluster, a new national hub for life sciences. It brings together researchers, investors, and healthcare leaders to work on things like AI-led drug discovery, precision medicine, and medical technology. Agreements signed during the event aim to support long-term innovation and turn the city into a center for advanced medical research.

Training and Responsible Use of AI

The city is also focusing on training doctors to use AI safely and responsibly. A new Population Health Intelligence platform, developed with Microsoft, uses data to understand health trends and improve planning. At the same time, Abu Dhabi launched a Global AI Healthcare Academy to help medical staff learn how to apply these technologies in real situations.
